Some stuffing
Chenille blanket yarn
25 mm safety eyes
Scissors
Yarn needle
8 mm crochet hook
Stitches / abbreviations:
Sc = Single Crochet (Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through, now you have 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through both loops.)
Hdc = Half Double Crochet (Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through all three loops.)
Dc = Double Crochet (Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.)
Ss = Slip stitch (Insert hook, yarn over, pull through both stitch and loop on hook.)
Inc = Increase (2 stitches in same stitch)
Dec = Decrease (Insert hook into front loop of first stitch, Insert hook into front loop of second stitch, yarn over, pull through both loops, now you have 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through both loops.)
Blo = Back loop only
Flo = Front loop only
St = Stitch/stitches
Ch = Chain (Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook)
- * repeat the pattern in-between the asterix X amount of times
- = number of stitches at the end of the round
- Work in continuous spiral; do not join your work at the end of the rounds unless stated.
- This pattern uses US terminology.

Head and Body:
1. Make a slipknot, ch 2, make 6 sc in the first ch that you made. = 6
2. *1 inc* x 6 = 12
3. *1 sc, 1 inc* x 6 = 18
4. *2 sc, 1 inc* x 6 = 24
5. *3 sc, 1 inc* x 6 = 30
6. *4 sc, 1 inc* x 6 = 36
7 to 12. 1 sc in each st for 6 rows = 36
13. *Sc 4, 1 dec* x 6 = 30
14. *Sc 1, 1 dec* x 10 = 20
15. *1 sc, 1 inc* x 10 = 30
16. *Sc 4, 1 inc* x 6 = 36
17. *Sc 5, 1 inc* x 6 = 42
18. 1 sc in each st for 1 row = 42
19. *Sc 6, 1 inc* x 6 = 48
20. 1 sc in each st for 1 row = 48
21. *Sc 15, 1 inc* x 3 = 51

Add the safety eyes to the front of the spider.
28. *Sc 7, 1 dec* x 6 = 48

Stuff the head and body.

Finish styffing the body.
38. *1 dec* x 6 = 6
Cut your yarn and using your yarn needle thread the tail through the front loops of the last 6 stitches, pull the tail tight to close the hole and hide the tail inside the spider.
Legs x 8:
1. Make a slipknot, ch 2, make 6 sc in the first ch that you made. = 6
2. *1 inc* x 6 = 12
3 to 9. 1 sc in each st for 6 rows = 12
10. 3 dec, 2 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc = 12
11. 2 dec, 2 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc = 12
12 to 15. 1 sc in each st for 4 rows = 12
16. 3 dec, 2 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc = 12
17 to 20. 1 sc in each st for 4 rows = 12
Cut the yarn for each leg long enough to stitch it onto the body, stuff the legs but leave a little gap unstuffed at the bends in the legs, you can use saftey pins to hold the legs in place while stitching them on. Line up the front two legs right next to the head and then stitch on the other legs in a row. Don’t leave a gap between each leg or you will run out of room to stitch them all on.
