How To Crochet A Peach, UK Terms

This crochet Peach is a great toy for kids to play with in there pretend kitchens, like playing shop like my daughter or add this crochet peach to your fruit bowl and see if anyone notices. You will need:

Cotton Yarn


Yarn Needle


Scissors

Stuffing

2.5 mm Crochet Hook


*Cotton Yarn: 100% cotton, 50 g (1.76 oz) / 115m (125 yd) Etsy

Stitches/Abbreviations:

Dc = Double Crochet (Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through, now you have 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through both loops.)

Htc = Half Treble Crochet (Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through all three loops.)

Tr = Treble Crochet (Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.)

Dtr = Double Treble Crochet (Yarn over twice, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have four loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, Yarn over, pull through the next two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.)

Ss = Slip stitch (Insert hook, yarn over, pull through both stitch and loop on hook.)

Inc = Increase (2 stitches in same stitch)

Dec = Decrease (Insert hook into front loop of first stitch, Insert hook into front loop of second stitch, yarn over, pull through both loops, now you have 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through
both loops.)


Blo = Back loop only


Flo = Front loop only


Ch = Chain (Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook)


St = Stitch/stitches

  • * repeat the pattern in-between the asterix X amount of times

= number of stitches at the end of the round


Work in continuous spiral; do not join your work at the end of the rounds unless stated to do so.

IMPORTANT!

Written Pattern:

Stalk
Brown Yarn

Make a slipknot, ch 7
skip the last ch that you made and make 1 dc into each ch = 6
Cut your yarn long enough to stitch it onto the peach
Knot the two ends together.

Leaf
Green Yarn

Ch 10

3 tr into the 4th chain down

3 tr, 2 htc
In the last chain make 1 dc, 1 ss, ch 1, turn your leaf, 1 ss 1 dc.


Now your working in the back of the chains
2 htc, 3 tr, 3 tr into the same chain as the previous 3 tr that you started with.


Ss to the top of the first tr that you made
Cut your yarn long enough to stitch it onto the peach.

Peach

Make a slipknot, ch 2, make 6 dc in the first ch that you made, pull the tail tight = 6

*1 inc* x 6 = 12

*1 dc, 1 inc* x 6 = 18

*2 dc, 1 inc* x 6 = 24

Dc around for 1 row = 24

*3 dc, 1 inc* x 6 = 30

Dc around for 1 row = 30

*4 dc, 1 inc* x 6 = 36
Sc around for 8 rows = 36
*4 dc, 1 dec* x 6 = 30
Dc around for 1 row = 30
*3 dc, 1 dec* x 6 = 24
*2 dc, 1 dec* x 6 = 18


Stuff
*1 dc, 1 dec* x 6 = 12
*1 dec* x 6 = 6

Cut a extra long yarn tail, enough to stitch it closed and stitch around the peach a few times.
Thread the yarn through the front loops of each of the last 6 st, pull the tail tight.
Thread the yarn tail through the center of the peach and come out three rows up from the bottom of
the Peach, pull the yarn tail tight, thread the yarn back into the center of the peach and repeat then make a knot at the top of the peach to hold everything in place. Please see the end of video above if you need a visual aid for this last part.
Stitch the stalk and leaf onto the top of the peach.
