This star lovey blanket looks super pretty with all of my lovey patterns that I have so far. It is a 8 pointed star lovey blanket but you can continue the pattern to make a bigger blanket for your bed or to keep you warm on the couch. While this pattern is available for free here on MummaJ Crochet, a PDF version is also available (low cost and print friendly!)

You will need:
*Cotton Yarn: 100% cotton, 50 g (1.76 oz) / 115m (125 yd) Etsy
Stitches / abbreviations:
Sc = Single Crochet (Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through, now you have 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through both loops.)
Hdc = Half Double Crochet (Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through all three loops.)
Dc = Double Crochet (Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.)
Ss = Slip stitch (Insert hook, yarn over, pull through both stitch and loop on hook.)
Inc = Increase (2 stitches in same stitch)
Dec = Decrease (Insert hook into front loop of first stitch, Insert hook into front loop of second stitch, yarn over, pull through both loops, now you have 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through both loops.)
Blo = Back loop only
Flo = Front loop only
St = Stitch/stitches
Ch = Chain (Yarn over, pull through one loop on hook)
- * repeat the pattern in-between the asterix X amount of times
- = number of stitches at the end of the round
- Work in continuous spiral; do not join your work at the end of the rounds unless stated.
- This pattern uses US terminology.

Written Pattern:

Ch 4 ss to first ch to make a loop.
2.
Ch 4 (counts as a dc and a ch 1), 1 dc into the center of the loop, ch 1 x 7 you should now have 8 posts, ss to the 3rd ch in the ch 4.
3.
Ss into ch 1 space, ch 3, 1 dc into same space, ch 2, 2 dc in next space ch 2 till the end, ss to the top of ch 3.
4.
Ss to next st, ss into ch 2 space, ch 3, 1 dc ch 2, 2 dc all in the first ch 2 space. In each ch 2 space make (2 dc ch 2 2 dc), Ss to top of ch 3.
5.
Ss to next st, ch 3 (ch 3 counts as a st), in the space make (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), dc 1, skip 2, dc 1, in the space make (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), dc 1 x 7. Ss to the top of the ch 3.

Hide all the tails from the blanket and stitch everything on to the head. Once all of parts are stitched on use the long tail from making the head and stitch it on to the center of the blanket, I stitch on the head all the way around and then I do another round to make sure it is nice and secure.
